Mazda CX-5 to order, turnkey, delivered to Moscow in 2026

Today there are two ways to buy a Mazda CX-5 in Moscow: pick up a used car on the secondary market, or order a new one through parallel import. AutoSHTAB delivers the Mazda CX-5 turnkey: sourcing → on-site inspection → purchase → delivery → customs clearance → conformity certification (SBKTS) and e-title (EPTS) → registration with the traffic police. Average timeline is 30 to 60 days. We work under a contract with a fixed budget; the contract, reports and support are all in Russian.

Why the Mazda CX-5 stays in demand

The Mazda CX-5 is one of the few crossovers whose platform age is forgiven. Steady demand comes down to a few reasons:

  • A naturally aspirated engine, no turbo. No turbo lag, no sensitivity to fuel quality, no expensive turbocharger repairs.
  • A classic torque-converter automatic. A durable unit instead of a CVT or dual-clutch — an advantage on resale.
  • Handling. Chassis tuning in the Mazda spirit: the crossover drives closer to a sedan than to a "stool on springs."
  • Straightforward ownership. Parts and service are readily available, and mechanics know the model well — important now that the brand has no official support left in Russia.
  • Liquidity. The Mazda CX-5 sells steadily on the Moscow secondhand market — demand holds for both first-generation cars and fresh units.

Official Mazda dealer in Moscow: how things actually stand

Searches for "official Mazda CX-5 dealer Moscow" still rank high, but the reality has changed: the brand has left the Russian market, and there is no official supply or manufacturer warranty in Russia anymore. Everything sold today arrives through parallel import.

So a "dealer" in this context is really an importer. Dealers and showrooms in Moscow operate under three models:

  • A car already on the lot. Fast, but pricier: logistics, downtime and the showroom's margin are baked into the price.
  • To order from a supplier's stock. A compromise on timeline and price.
  • Direct import for a specific client. The car is bought specifically for you, and you see the invoice, the budget and every payment separately — the most transparent option.

Compare not the "car price in China" but the turnkey total: delivery, duty, customs fee, recycling fee and paperwork included.

Which Mazda CX-5 we source: generations and markets

The situation with this model in 2026 is unusual — two generations exist side by side:

  • KI, third generation. It launched in summer 2025. The body grew to 4690 mm, the wheelbase to 2815 mm, the trunk gained 141 liters, the cabin is noticeably quieter, and the infotainment got a larger screen. The base engine is a 2.5 (187 hp).
  • KF, the previous generation. Still produced at the Changan-Mazda joint venture in Nanjing with a high degree of local content. These are the cars that most often make it to Russia.

Where a Mazda CX-5 can be sourced from, and what the constraints are:

MarketVersionsNote for import into Russia
China2.0 and 2.5, KF and KIMain direction: left-hand drive, wide choice, the 2.0 version qualifies for the reduced recycling fee
UAE2.5 (around 190 hp)Left-hand drive, good condition, but power over 160 hp means the commercial recycling fee applies
Japan2.0, 2.5, 2.2 dieselRight-hand drive — rarely a fit for Russian conditions
Europe2.0 and aboveDirect export is closed: engine displacement above 1.9L

Mazda CX-5 under 160 hp — the key financial detail in 2026

The key factor for savings in 2026 is engine power under 160 hp. It's what determines the size of the recycling fee.

Since 1 December 2025 (Government of the Russian Federation Resolution No. 1713 dated 01.11.2025), the reduced recycling fee for individuals has remained in place only for vehicles up to 160 hp imported for personal use:

Power / ageRecycling fee for an individual (personal use)
Up to 160 hp, new (under 3 years)~3,400 ₽ (reduced rate)
Up to 160 hp, over 3 years~5,200 ₽ (reduced rate)
Over 160 hpCommercial recycling fee — hundreds of thousands of rubles

For the CX-5 this splits the model into two categories:

  • 2.0 (around 150–158 hp depending on market and model year) — falls under the reduced threshold. This is the most cost-effective option in terms of payments.
  • 2.5 (around 187–192 hp) — only the commercial recycling fee applies. We'll still deliver the car, but you'll see the payment difference in the budget upfront.

Important: the reduced rate applies only if the conditions are met — the car is imported for personal use, no more than one per person per year, and it cannot be resold within 1 year of import (otherwise the recycling fee is recalculated at the commercial rate). The reduced rates for individuals are locked in through 2030.

Customs clearance for the Mazda CX-5: duty, fee, recycling fee

On import, an individual pays three mandatory charges:

  1. Customs duty — at a flat rate (Decision of the EEC Council No. 107 dated 20.12.2017). Depends on engine displacement, age and value of the car. For combustion-engine vehicles imported by an individual, VAT and excise duty are not paid separately — they're already factored into the flat rate.
  2. Customs processing fee for filing the declaration — a fixed amount on a scale that depends on the car's value.
  3. Recycling fee — at the reduced rate for cars up to 160 hp, or the commercial rate above 160 hp.

Which age is more cost-effective? "Sweet spot" cars aged 3–5 years are optimal: for these, duty is calculated from engine displacement at a reduced rate — for a 2.0 engine (1,998 cc) that's €2.7/cc. If you buy a new Mazda CX-5 in Moscow through import, duty is calculated from value instead and comes out higher — we'll source a new one too, but the calculation will show the difference.

The 180-day rule. Since 1 January 2026 (GACC (China) Order No. 265 dated 15.11.2025), individuals may only export from China vehicles that have been registered in China for at least 180 days. We check this during sourcing — before you put down any money.

Mazda CX-5: turnkey prices in Moscow

The price is made up as follows: car price in the export market + delivery + customs clearance (duty + customs fee + recycling fee) = price in hand in Moscow.

The price of a new Mazda CX-5 in Moscow is tied to the exchange rate, so there's no fixed price list for the model — the cost is recalculated along with the rate. See the current calculation by trim and color above on this page: pick a version and color, and you'll see the total right away. You can estimate the payments for your own car in the recycling fee and customs calculator, and we lock in the exact budget in the contract before the deal.

Used Mazda CX-5 in Moscow: what to check

The secondary market for this model is large, and a used Mazda CX-5 in Moscow remains a high-volume search. Buying a used CX-5 in Moscow without surprises comes down to checking specific points:

  • paintwork and body geometry — a paint thickness gauge on every panel, panel gaps, signs of respraying or repair work;
  • accident history and number of owners — checked against traffic police databases and VIN-check services;
  • timing chain and engine condition — a known weak point on Skyactiv engines, especially with high mileage and irregular oil changes;
  • corrosion on wheel arches and sills — relevant for cars that have been through several Moscow winters with road salt;
  • service history — scheduled maintenance, consumables replaced, suspension work.

An alternative to the secondary market is sourcing a fresh unit from abroad: often the same model year, but in better condition and a richer trim.

How we source a Mazda CX-5 for Moscow: the process

A turnkey import means one company is responsible for the whole process, from sourcing to license plates. Our stages:

  1. Sourcing. We settle on generation and trim for your budget, calculate the recycling fee by power and the duty by age right away, and check the 180-day rule.
  2. On-site inspection. Our specialist inspects the car, checks its history and technical condition, and sends a photo and video report.
  3. Purchase and invoice payment. A secure deal with a vetted supplier — no direct transfers to "unknown dealers."
  4. Delivery to Russia. By car carrier or by sea, cargo insured for the entire route.
  5. Customs clearance. Declaration, duty, customs fee, recycling fee.
  6. Conformity certification and e-title. Lab testing, ERA-GLONASS installation, electronic vehicle title (EPTS) issued.
  7. Delivery to Moscow and registration with the traffic police. We hand over the finished car with documents and plates.

Every deal has a dedicated manager: you see the status and reports at every stage.

How to choose a company to order a Mazda CX-5 from

There are many firms offering cars to order in Moscow, and the quality of execution varies. What to look for when choosing one:

  • a contract with a registered legal entity and a fixed budget — including the recycling fee based on actual power, with no "the price changed at the border";
  • inspection of the car before purchase and reports at every stage;
  • an honest answer on official status: if a company promises "official Mazda warranty" in Russia, that's a reason to be cautious;
  • real case studies and client reviews with specific models and amounts, not an abstract rating;
  • a transparent payment scheme and insured transport.

AutoSHTAB operates under contract as AutoSHTAB GROUP LLC (ООО «АвтоШТАБ ГРУПП»); client case studies with real savings amounts are published in our Cases section.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an official Mazda dealer in Moscow?

There is no official dealership for the brand in Russia right now: Mazda has left the market, and new cars arrive through parallel import. Showrooms that call themselves dealers are effectively importers and offer their own warranty, not a manufacturer's warranty.

Can I legally buy a new Mazda CX-5 in Moscow?

Yes. Import for personal use is fully legal: customs clearance, conformity certification, e-title and registration with the traffic police. We handle all the paperwork for you.

How much does a Mazda CX-5 cost in Moscow?

The total depends on generation, trim, power, age and the exchange rate. The price of a new Mazda CX-5 in Moscow is recalculated along with the rate, so we don't publish a fixed price list — the calculation for a specific version and color is available above on this page, and we lock in the exact budget in the contract.

Which CX-5 version is more cost-effective on payments?

The 2.0 version: power falls within 160 hp, so the recycling fee is calculated at the reduced rate. On the 2.5, the recycling fee is commercial — the difference amounts to hundreds of thousands of rubles.

Which is more cost-effective: a new car or a used CX-5?

On payments, "sweet spot" cars aged 3–5 years are more cost-effective — for these, duty is calculated from engine displacement at a reduced rate. We'll source a new one too — the calculation will show the difference for a specific version.

How does the Chinese-built car differ from the Japanese one?

Cars from the Changan-Mazda joint venture in Nanjing are heavily localized but built to the brand's standards. The options list and infotainment settings differ — we check the trim and Russian-language support during sourcing.

How long does the car take to arrive?

On average 30–60 days from purchase to handover in Moscow: delivery, customs clearance, conformity certification and e-title, registration.

Can I order a specific color and trim?

Yes. We source to request — from Soul Red Crystal to Machine Gray. If the version you want isn't in stock with our suppliers, we'll say so honestly and offer the closest alternative.
