Cars from China to order and turnkey with delivery to Russia in 2026

Ordering a car from China is a legal way to buy a new or thoroughly checked used car from 350,000 ₽ cheaper than at a Russian dealership, often in a richer trim. AutoSHTAB delivers cars from China turnkey: sourcing → on-site inspection → purchase → delivery → customs clearance → SBKTS and e-PTS → registration with the traffic police (GIBDD). The timeline averages 30 to 60 days. We work under contract with a fixed budget.

Why it pays to buy a car from China

China is the largest supplier of cars to Russia. There are several reasons to order a car from China:

  • Lower price. Turnkey savings on popular models — from 350,000 ₽ compared to prices at Russian dealerships.
  • Rich trim levels. Versions available on China's domestic market are not officially sold in Russia.
  • Quality. Modern Chinese cars are engineered with international specialists and built on robotic production lines.
  • Transparent payments. With direct import from China, all duties and fees are known in advance — no surprises at the border.
  • Reliable logistics. Delivery routes from China to Russia run steadily and predictably.

Which cars we deliver from China: makes and models

We bring in virtually any car from the Chinese market to order — both Chinese brands and locally built "European," "Japanese" and "Korean" models:

  • Chinese makes: BYD, Chery, Geely, Changan, Zeekr, Li Auto, Exeed, Tank, Voyah, Haval and others.
  • Foreign brands built in China: Volkswagen (including Jetta), Toyota, Mazda (for example, the CX-5), Nissan, Audi, Honda.
  • Hybrids and electric cars — from compact to premium.

Nissan from China

Nissan is localized in China through joint ventures, so many models can be ordered directly from the domestic Chinese market. We'll help you choose a version that qualifies for the reduced recycling fee and calculate the final turnkey price for a Nissan from China.

Volkswagen, Toyota, Mazda, Audi from China

These brands have a broad lineup in China, often cheaper than in their "home" markets. The Mazda CX-5 from China is especially popular: trims with an engine up to 160 hp — which qualify for the reduced recycling fee — are available to order.

Electric cars from China

China is the world leader in electric vehicles, and ordering an electric car from China can be considerably cheaper than buying one in Russia. But there's an important payment nuance that sets EVs apart from combustion-engine cars:

  • when importing an EV, an individual also pays VAT (unlike petrol and diesel cars, where an individual doesn't pay VAT separately);
  • the import duty rate on EVs is fixed — around 15% of value;
  • the reduced recycling fee for engines up to 160 hp applies to EVs on general terms, but calculating an electric motor's power for the vehicle title has its own specifics.

That's why we run a separate precise calculation for every electric car — so you see the full cost in advance, not an "approximate price from an ad."

Cars from China up to 160 hp — why this is the best deal in 2026

The key factor for savings in 2026 is engine power up to 160 hp. It's what determines the size of the recycling fee.

Since December 1, 2025 (Russian Government Decree No. 1713 of 01.11.2025), the reduced recycling fee for individuals has been kept only for cars up to 160 hp imported for personal use:

Power / ageRecycling fee for an individual (personal use)
Up to 160 hp, new (under 3 years)~3,400 ₽ (reduced rate)
Up to 160 hp, over 3 years~5,200 ₽ (reduced rate)
Over 160 hpCommercial recycling fee — hundreds of thousands of rubles
The difference is huge: the same crossover with a 165 hp engine can "add" hundreds of thousands of rubles on the recycling fee alone, instead of 3,400 ₽. That's why most of our clients choose cars from China up to 160 hp — savings are maximized in that range.

Important: the reduced rate applies only if the conditions are met — the car is imported for personal use, no more than one per person per year, and it cannot be resold within 1 year of import (otherwise the fee is recalculated at the commercial rate). The reduced rates for individuals are locked in through 2030.

Customs clearance and recycling fee for cars from China: how payments are calculated

When importing a car from China, an individual pays three mandatory charges:

  1. Customs duty — at a unified rate (EEC Council Decision No. 107 of 20.12.2017). Depends on engine size, age and value of the car. For combustion-engine cars imported by an individual, VAT and excise tax are not paid separately — they're already included in the unified rate.
  2. Customs fee for processing the declaration — a fixed amount on a scale, depending on the car's value.
  3. Recycling fee — at the reduced rate for cars up to 160 hp, or the commercial rate above 160 hp.

Which age is more cost-effective? So-called "sweet spot" cars aged 3–5 years are optimal — the duty rate on them is lower than on new cars and on cars over 5 years old.

The 180-day rule. As of January 1, 2026 (GACC of China Order No. 265 of 15.11.2025), individuals may only export cars from China that have been registered in China for at least 180 days. We check this at the sourcing stage — before you put any money down.

Import rules are changing in 2026, and the calculation depends on the exchange rate and the specific trim. We lock in the final amount for your car in the estimate before the deal.

How much does a turnkey car from China cost: a sample calculation

The final price is made up as follows: car price in China + delivery + customs clearance (duty + customs fee + recycling fee) = price in hand.

You can estimate the duty, fee and recycling fee for your car in our recycling fee and customs calculator.

Example for a popular Chinese crossover (approximate, 2026):

ParameterValue
TypePetrol, 2.0 L, 150 hp, under 3 years
Invoice price~€20,000 (~1,840,000 ₽)
Customs duty~883,000 ₽
Customs fee~15,500 ₽
Recycling fee (reduced, up to 160 hp)~3,400 ₽
Delivery (logistics)~200,000–250,000 ₽

The amounts are approximate and depend on the exchange rate, model and trim. An exact calculation for your car — free of charge, in a few minutes.

How we deliver cars from China: the process

A turnkey car delivery from China means one company is responsible for the entire process, from sourcing to license plates. Our stages:

  2. On-site inspection. Our specialist in China inspects the car and checks its history and technical condition.
  3. Purchase and invoice payment. A secure deal with a vetted supplier — no direct transfers to "unknown dealers."
  4. Delivery to Russia. By truck or by sea, cargo insured for the entire route.
  5. Customs clearance. Filing the declaration, paying the duty, customs fee and recycling fee.
  6. SBKTS and e-PTS. Passing the testing lab and issuing the electronic vehicle title.
  7. Registration with the traffic police (GIBDD) — you receive the finished car with documents and plates.

Every deal is assigned a personal manager: you see the status and reports at every stage.

Frequently asked questions

Can an individual legally bring a car from China?

Yes. Importing a car from China for personal use is fully legal and requires no special permits. You need to go through customs clearance, obtain SBKTS and e-PTS, and register the car.

How do you calculate the cost of a car from China?

Final price = car cost in China + delivery + customs clearance (duty + customs fee + recycling fee). The exact calculation depends on engine size and power, age, value and the exchange rate. We calculate it for free for a specific model.

What's the recycling fee for a car from China in 2026?

For an individual importing for personal use: ~3,400 ₽ for a new car up to 160 hp, and ~5,200 ₽ for a car up to 160 hp over 3 years old. For cars above 160 hp, the commercial recycling fee applies — hundreds of thousands of rubles.

Which cars from China are the best value?

Cars with an engine up to 160 hp and aged 3–5 years: they carry the minimum recycling fee and a reduced duty rate.

How long does delivery from China to Russia take?

On average 20–40 days depending on the route (truck or sea) and border traffic.

Is it worth bringing in an electric car from China?

Often yes, but for electric cars an individual additionally pays VAT, and the duty is fixed (~15%). We run the calculation individually for each EV.

What is the 180-day rule?

As of January 1, 2026, individuals can only export cars from China that have been registered there for at least 180 days. We check this before the deal.

Can I order a specific make — Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, VW, Audi?

Yes, all of these brands are represented on the Chinese market. We'll source a model that qualifies for the reduced recycling fee and calculate the turnkey price.
