• Qashqai Glory. A separate branch: the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture kept the J11 in production for China and gave it a substantial exterior update in 2024. This is the car that most often gets ordered into Russia today.

Nissan Qashqai under 160 hp — the key financial detail in 2026

The key factor for savings in 2026 is engine power under 160 hp. It's what determines the size of the recycling fee.

Since 1 December 2025 (Government of the Russian Federation Resolution No. 1713 dated 01.11.2025), the reduced recycling fee for individuals has remained in place only for vehicles up to 160 hp imported for personal use:

The Qashqai is a rare case here: the entire current line-up falls under the reduced threshold. The Chinese Glory is 140 hp, the European J12 is 140 or 158 hp, and the older J11 cars are 115 and 144 hp. In other words, the recycling fee comes out at the reduced rate for practically any version worth bringing in.

Important: the reduced rate applies only if the conditions are met — the car is imported for personal use, no more than one per person per year, and it cannot be resold within 1 year of import (otherwise the recycling fee is recalculated at the commercial rate). The reduced rates for individuals are locked in through 2030.

CVT, automatic or manual: which to choose

Searches for "buy Nissan Qashqai automatic Moscow" and "buy Qashqai manual Moscow" come up almost equally often, but the choice here isn't as obvious as it looks:

An important point for anyone who specifically wants a manual: the Chinese Glory doesn't have one — it's CVT only. A manual means either a used Russian-built car or a European J12 to order. Buying a used manual Qashqai in Moscow is entirely realistic, but the selection is noticeably narrower than among CVT versions, so sourcing takes longer.

Nissan Qashqai Glory: what kind of car it is

Glory is a facelift of the second generation for the domestic Chinese market. Overall length is unchanged (4401 mm), but the body got a new front end in the brand's current style, along with a redesigned center console and climate controls. Technically it's the same familiar J11: a naturally aspirated 2.0 rated at 140 hp with a CVT driving the front wheels.

What this means for a buyer:

• Predictability. The platform and drivetrain are thoroughly understood by Russian workshops, and parts interchange with earlier model years.
• Freshness. You get a new car, not a unit with a decade of mileage on it.
• The reduced recycling fee. 140 hp falls under the threshold, so the payments stay minimal.

One thing worth knowing in advance: equipment varies across Chinese-market cars, and some units lack heated front seats, a heated windshield, or a panoramic roof. Don't go by the trim name — go by the actual equipment on the specific VIN, which we check before purchase. All-wheel drive isn't offered in the current Chinese line-up either.

Customs clearance for the Nissan Qashqai: duty, fee, recycling fee

On import, an individual pays three mandatory charges:

1. Customs duty — at a flat rate (Decision of the EEC Council No. 107 dated 20.12.2017). Depends on engine displacement, age and value of the car. For combustion-engine vehicles imported by an individual, VAT and excise duty are not paid separately — they're already factored into the flat rate.
2. Customs processing fee for filing the declaration — a fixed amount on a scale that depends on the car's value.
