Volkswagen T-Roc in Moscow: a new crossover from China, to order and turnkey, in 2026

Volkswagen T-Roc was never officially sold in Russia, so buying one in Moscow today only happens through parallel import. Since summer 2026, facelifted T-Roc models from China have appeared at Moscow dealers: in-stock 2025–2026 cars were priced from 3.05 to 4.35 million rubles, with to-order offers starting from 2.31 million. The Chinese T-Roc: what kind of car is it

In China, the T-Roc is built by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture under the name Tange (探歌). The model went through a facelift in April 2025. Key features:

• Dimensions. 4,336 × 1,819 × 1,592 mm, with a 2,680 mm wheelbase — longer than the global version (2,603 mm), so there's more room in the back.
• Interior. A 10.3″ digital instrument cluster, a 9.2″ central touchscreen, and the Travel Assist system with Level 2 features: adaptive cruise control and lane centering.
• Engines. A turbocharged 1.4 TSI (110 kW, 150 hp, 250 N·m) or a 1.5 TSI EVO2 (118 kW, 160 hp, 250 N·m).
• Transmission. A 7-speed dry-clutch DSG dual-clutch transmission, front-wheel drive only.

150 or 160 hp: the key detail that affects your budget

The reduced recycling fee for individuals applies up to 160 hp. Customs converts power from kilowatts, and the cutoff is 117.68 kW. There's no rounding down, so the 1.5-liter version at 118 kW doesn't qualify for the reduced rate, even though listings describe it as "160 hp".

That's why for Moscow we primarily recommend the T-Roc 280TSI: the difference in payments compared with the 300TSI runs into hundreds of thousands of rubles. The reduced rate applies only if the car is imported for personal use, no more than one per year, and not resold within a year.

Used T-Roc from China

Besides new cars, we can also bring in a 3–5-year-old T-Roc from China. Before the facelift, the Chinese T-Roc 280TSI had the same 1.4 TSI engine at 110 kW (150 hp), so these cars also qualify for the reduced recycling fee.

For a 3–5-year-old car, duty is calculated from displacement: 1.4 L (1,395 cc) × €1.7/cc — about €2,370. A new car is cleared based on its value instead. You can estimate the payments in the recycling fee and customs calculator.

DSG and maintenance: what to know

The 7-speed dry-clutch DSG is fuel-efficient and shifts quickly, but doesn't like prolonged crawling in traffic jams and needs careful use. On used cars, we check the mechatronic unit and clutch wear via diagnostics. TSI engines are sensitive to oil quality and the maintenance schedule.
